word@folkfest
This is the second year of word@folkfest, an onsite writing retreat with nine distinguished writers who will teach, perform, inspire and gently bully you into being a better wordsmith.
Everyone attending the festival will be able to take part in the daytime workshops in a shady corner of the festival site but we are offering special packages to those who pre-register which include back-stage meal passes where you can rub shoulders with all of our musicians, writers and artists in attendance.
Each evening there will be spoken word arts on Main Stage (as well as all the great Musical programming), from the Opening of the Festival Poem from our Poet Laureate Laurie Block, to a round robin workshop featuring all of our workshops leaders to a performance by our featured writer (keep watching for announcements).
There will be an opportunity on Sunday afternoon where workshop leaders will relinquish the microphone and the students can take the stage!
Writers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate.
Packages include a weekend festival pass, camping and a back stage meal pass and cost only $75. You can also purchase a regular weekend pass (without the extras - $40) and attend any of the workshops. Volunteer opportunities are still available.
